Skeem is an on-line store and today’s pick for the SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC176). I was inspired by this Sea Spray pillar and used the layout from Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge (WSC77), hosted by Lori.
The Always bird was stamped with Basic Black Craft ink on Whisper White card stock, clear embossed, and cut out. The background was created with an emboss resist technique. Images were stamped with VersaMark ink and clear embossed, then the entire panel was brayered over with Bashful Blue ink. I rolled the Baroque Border wheel across the top with black StazOn ink and stamped the Lovely Letter E in the bottom right corner. The filigree designer brad and light blue rhinestone brad were the perfect embellishment for this card.

Looking at my calendar at all the birthdays that are coming up in the next two weeks, I decided to make a birthday card for today’s Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS (LSC216). We were only allowed to use:
- 1 Wheel
- 1 Image stamp
- 1 Sentiment stamp
- 1 Embellishment
My Cheers to You set hasn’t seen much ink, so I pulled it out together with the coordinating Cheers wheel. I rolled the wheel with Whisper White Craft ink on a Real Red card and let the ink dry. I stamped the martini image with black StazOn ink on Whisper White card stock and colored it in with Classic inks and a blender pen. For my embellishment I chose an aluminum metal edge tag, to which I adhered a 1-1/4″ Kiwi Kiss circle. The image was cut out and adhered with dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink on a 1″ strip of Real Red card stock and embossed with white powder. This strip was attached to a panel of Bella Rose Designer Series Paper with white scalloped edges.

I managed to finish my 10 Christmas cards for the month of April (for the 2009 Christmas Card Challenge on SCS) early, and it sure feels good. Maybe I’ll even start on next month’s before this one is over.
The card was quick and simple; only the watercoloring took a little bit of time. I started with a Riding Hood Red card base and added a 5-1/4″ x 2″ strip of (retired) Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper. A smaller strip of DSP was adhered to a 4″ x 1-1/8″ piece of Chocolate Chip card stock, and two big brads were inserted before mounting it on the card.
The adorable little image from the A Flower for All Seasons set was stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink on a watercolor paper tag and colored in with Classic inks and an Aqua Painter. I matted it with a 2″ x 1-3/4″ Chocolate Chip panel and adhered it to the card with dimensionals.

I noticed that today’s Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC224) was the perfect layout for me to use another printed window sheet. This time, I was really going to make a window with it!
First I adhered two 1″ strips of Sweet Always Designer Series Paper to a Pumpkin Pie card and glued a 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of textured Chocolate Chip card stock on top. Then I took a hobby blade and ruler, and cut out a 4″ x 2-3/4″ window.
The printed window sheet was adhered to the inside of the card with Sticky Strip, and I placed a white rub-on inside the card for my sentiment.

When I saw Jen del Muro’s sketch for this week (4/11/09), the Warhol technique immediately came to mind. But since I was going to stick with the colors from today’s combination challenge on SCS (CC214), my card ended up as more of a Warhol technique wannabe.
Christine picked the colors from the Bella Birds Designer Series Paper, and since I happen to love that paper I just had to use it. The Happy Birthday sentiment from the Four Square set was stamped twice with Chocolate Chip ink on Bordering Blue, Pink Pirouette, and So Saffron card stock and punched out with the 1-1/4″ square punch. I matted the six squares with Chocolate Chip scalloped squares and added a corduroy button with linen thread to the right bottom square.
