Clearly Thanks

How’s this for a fast card? It took me forever to try and get a decent picture of it, though! The reflection of the printed window sheet was hard to deal with, but I did the best I could. Here’s a picture that shows off the double-sided textured DSP card base (Parisian Breeze Specialty):

Clearly Thanks Take 2

The jumbo brads inside the felt flowers are keeping the 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ sheet attached to the card. I said it was fast!

Featured Stamper: Inge Groot

Featured Stamper: Inge Groot

Beth chose a very talented artist from the Netherlands as today’s Featured Stamper on SCS. Van harte gefeliciteerd, Inge! I was quite intimidated by Inge’s awesome watercoloring, but I gave it a shot. I picked her Are We there yet? card to CASE and pulled out my old (retired) Time for You set.

I stamped the bike image with Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper and colored the image with Classic inks and an Aqua Painter. I layered various sheets of Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper on Not Quite Navy card stock and a 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ Kiwi Kiss card base. Two flower buttons and some So Saffron grosgrain ribbon were used to embellish the card.

Easter Wishes

Easter Wishes

Inspired by the layout of MaryLou Cacciatore’s Merry Christmas card in the Spring 2009 Take Ten magazine, I created this quick Easter card. I stamped the image with black StazOn ink on a tag made out of Stampin’ Up! watercolor paper. The edge of the tag was sponged with Lovely Lilac ink and the image was colored in with Classic inks and an Aqua Painter.

The sentiment from the All Holidays set was stamped on Bella Birds Designer Series Paper, and one edge of the Raspberry Tart DSP panel was run through the eyelet border punch.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Friends Forever

Friends Forever

Kristina chose a very dramatic color combination for her inspiration challenge this week (#49). I wasn’t sure how to put these colors together, but I’m pretty happy with the end result. I used Beate’s Weekend Sketch #76, hosted by Laurie, for the layout of the card.

The card was made out of textured Basic Black card stock, and so were the strips with the white Chit Chat rub-ons. They were matted with Pacific Point card stock. The butterfly from the Simple Friendship set was stamped with Rose Red ink on Whisper White card stock and cut out. I also cut out a 3″ Pacific Point circle and scalloped the edge with a corner rounder punch (guide removed). The scalloped circle looked a little plain, so I added white dots with a gel pen.

An Unhurried Sense of Time

An Unhurried Sense of Time

I recently joined a wonderful online community for SU! Stampin’ Addicts, where I found a great sketch challenge today (SASC6). This was the perfect layout to showcase that great sentiment in the Sense of Time set from the Occasions Mini catalog.

I stamped the large clock image several times with Chocolate Chip ink on the Confetti White card and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa ink. A 4-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of brown Bella Rose DSP was adhered to the card and a 2″ strip of Bella Birds DSP (edges also sponged) placed on top. I pierced along the edges of the brown panel and made four holes for the vintage brads.

The sentiment was stamped on Confetti White paper and the edges were first distressed with the tool from the Cutter Kit, then sponged with Close to Cocoa ink. The edges of the Chocolate Chip mat were also distressed.

Check out the Stampin’ Addicts site, and thanks for stopping by!
