Terry (aka TERRORE3 on SCS) is such a sweet member of our online stampers community. I really wanted to participate in today’s Featured Stamper challenge and CASE one of her cards. My eye fell on her cc116, garden blossom card, and I decided to keep the Garden Green, but change the other two colors. I kept the layout the same, but used a wider ribbon (it’s a candy cane striped ribbon from the upcoming Holiday Mini).
The stamp set I used for the various flowers is called Eastern Blooms. I inked up the branch stamp with markers, spritzed it with water, and stamped it on a scalloped circle cut out of watercolor paper. The edge was sponged with Baja Breeze ink. The Best Wishes sentiment is from the Cute & Curly set (I omitted the brackets).

I’ve been waiting for my (Stampin’ Up! exclusive) Top Note Sizzix Bigz Die for what seems like forever, and yesterday it finally arrived! Just in time for me to design a card for the SCS shoebox swap I’m attending in Reisterstown, MD today.
The colors in the Frosty Day Designer Series Paper are not your traditional Christmas colors, but I do love orange, so I had to order it. I trimmed the Frosty top note die on its perforated dashes and cut another top note out of Chocolate Chip card stock as a mat. I adhered a 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Kiwi Kiss card stock at 1″ from the top edge of the card behind the top note. Then I wrapped the wide satin ribbon around the card front and tied it into a big bow.
The Cute & Curly saying was first stamped with Tangerine Tango ink on Whisper White card stock and punched out. Then it was stamped again, with Chocolate Chip ink on Bashful Blue card stock, and the oval was cut out with scissors (neither oval punch is quite right for this image).

Inspired by the colors of the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper, I created this card for the Great Swaps Girls new catty swap. I signed up for the Say It with Scallops stamp set, which is this year’s Ronald McDonald House Charities set.
The images are designed to perfectly fit inside the Scallop Square Punch, which I ended up not using on the card. I did use the new Scallop Edge Punch on a strip of Whisper White card stock, to add a little accent to the patterned paper.
If you click on the card, you should be able to see the dry-embossed dots on the Pink Pirouette card stock, behind the sentiment. These dots were manually added (one by one) with the Dots classy brass template and a stylus. I thought it looked nice next to the dotted Designer Series Paper.

At my stamp class last weekend, I was surprised to learn nobody had made one of these big buckle cards yet. The class focused on Big Shot die cuts, and this one uses the Build a Flower Bigz die. There are two other flower shapes on the die that weren’t used on this particular card. I adhered the skinny flower to the big flower and doodled white dots around it. Then I set a jumbo eyelet in the center of the flower. The stem and “leaves” were stamped in Always Artichoke on the Mellow Moss card, next to the hole that was made with the Word Window punch.
I used the little flower background stamp from the Sprinkles set inside the card, and filled in the little dots with a white gel pen. The Thanks So Much sentiment is from the versatile Sincere Salutations set and fit perfectly on my “buckle.”

I made this card with Scandinavian Season for a Holiday Mini swap, also hosted by my friend Sharon. Looking for inspiration on splitcoaststampers.com, I found that week’s Sketch challenge (#193). The card base is a regular 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip card stock folded in half. I did a lot of silver embossing on this card: on the 5-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ strip of Real Red, on the three 3-3/4″ x 1/2″ strips of Brushed Silver, and on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, on which I stamped the tree with VersaMark ink.
I colored in some parts of the tree with Real Red and Kiwi Kiss ink and a blender pen, cut out the tree, and mounted it on a piece of Ski Slope Designer Series paper. The little Riding Hood Red felt snowflake was adhered to a 1-1/4″ Whisper White circle with a silver brad.
