When the cat’s away, this mouse plays with glitter! I try to avoid using glitter (and especially getting it all over me) because my DH isn’t a big fan and to be honest, I’m not a huge fan, either. But I really think this simply stamped winter scene needed a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds to spruce things up.
I’m participating in as many WCMD challenges on SCS as I can today. The first one was this sketch challenge by AJ, one of my GSG friends. I cut a few strips of Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper; the pattern was exactly the right width for the sketch. I stamped the image and sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock and layered it onto Kiwi Kiss card stock.
To embellish the empty-looking left top corner of the white panel, I added a red photo corner, a Baja Breeze little felt snowflake and a silver star brad.
Hope you get to make a card today! Thanks for stopping by!

I joined a second Holiday Mini swap with my GSG friends and used Scandinavian Season this time. The second group was smaller, so I was able to use embellishments that I only have a limited number of (like the Styled Silver Hodgepodge hardware and rhinestone brads) on this card.
I love this striped patterned paper from the Holiday Treasures DSP package, and I picked the other colors to match. The vellum was placed on top of the DSP and I adhered it in spots where it wouldn’t be noticed, like behind the tree and the sentiment.
I silver embossed the tree on Always Artichoke card stock, which may be hard to see in the picture. The red flower and sentiment were stamped with Ruby Red Craft ink and clear embossed.

When my mom visited me here in the States, she fell in love with the “rode vogeltjes” (little red birds) flying around outside in our neighborhood. It’s a color bird you just don’t see in Belgium. I bought Stampin’ Up!’s old Christmas Cardinal set several years ago, because I knew she would love it if I made her a card with it. And this year, I simply had to buy A Cardinal Christmas as well!
This card was made for a Holiday Mini swap with my GSG friends. I used two matching prints from the Holiday Treasures DSP package for the background. The cardinal was stamped with black StazOn ink on watercolor paper and cut out with the Coluzzle. I was careful not to cut off his tail, because I needed to it hide the imperfect red scalloped edge that was created with the 3/16″ corner rounder punch. Yes, I had an ulterior motive for this out-of-the-box image!
I stamped the words separately on little 1/2″ strips of Whisper White card stock and punched the ends with a 3/4″ square punch turned at an angle to create the banner look.

When I saw Kristina’s latest color inspiration challenge (#24), I immediately had an idea for a card. I definitely wanted to emboss the big Baroque background on Pumpkin Pie card stock and cut it out with the largest Coluzzle circle. I also knew I wanted to use the Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon. The other elements just fell into place on this 5-1/4″ square card.
I punched out the little Kiwi Kiss circles in the top left corner with my 1/4″ and 1/8″ circle punches and glued them to the card. Tweezers come in really handy when you have to handle such tiny pieces of paper.

Today, my little sister and her husband are celebrating their wedding anniversary somewhere near Yosemite. Both of their names start with the letter G, so the entire family calls them G². I hope the card I made for them today makes it to Belgium before they return home from vacation next week!
I combined this week’s color combination (#186) and sketch (#196) challenges on SCS. I used Sweet Always Designer Series Paper in Chocolate Chip and created my own patterned paper by stamping three different flowers from the Always set in three different colors on the Whisper White panel. The sentiment was inked up with markers and punched out to fit inside the Styled Silver Hodgepodge frame. The big heart from A Happy Heart was stamped with Really Rust ink on Whisper White card stock and matted with Chocolate Chip card stock. I finished off the card with three little square buttons in the bottom left corner.
