Almost Autumn

Almost Autumn
Sharon, our swap hostess, decided we needed to make Autumn cards this month, so this is what I came up with. I stamped the leaf from Happiness Always in several colors on Very Vanilla card stock and used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the Lovely Letters to spell the word Autumn. I adhered this piece to a 6″ x 3″ Basic Black card base.

The leaves were punched out of Pumpkin Pie and Kiwi Kiss card stock in the Big Shot, with the Leaves #2 die. I “drew” a few veins in the orange leaf with a stylus and sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel.

Fresh Cuts for You

Fresh Cuts for You

I can’t even remember when I last used my Fresh Cuts set, so I decided to dust it off and use it for Kristina’s Color Inspiration challenge (#23) today. I cut six 1-3/4″ squares of Glossy White card stock and stamped the corner of the background image in three different colors: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie. I glued the squares to a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock measuring 5-1/2″ x 3-13/16″ (no kidding!).

The saying was inked up with a Chocolate Chip marker, so that I could stamp the words vertically on a small piece of So Saffron card stock. I added an Aged Copper frame and did some paper piercing along the top and bottom edges.

Lucky You

Lucky You
I’m still playing with my Big Shot, and after cutting out letters with the Naturally Serif die I wondered what to do with them. I decided to pair them up with the Define Your Life set of definitions. When I got the idea to place both the letters and the definition in a frame, I had to find die-cuts that would fit inside the Cute & Curly label. So, that’s how I ended up picking the “lucky” definition: both the uppercase and lowercase Ls fit inside the frame!

I embellished with Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon, and stamped a Fresh Cuts image in two corners of the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper background. The Kiwi Kiss images behind the letters and definition stamp were stamped off once.

Featured Stamper: Liz Williams

Featured Stamper: Liz Williams
I was delighted to see so many Valentine’s Day cards in Featured Stamper lazylizard‘s gallery, because I wanted to ink up my new A Happy Heart stamp set today. I CASEd this card by Liz and (obviously) changed the stamps used, but also the colors and the card size (mine is 6″ x 3″). I omitted the glitter (those who know me, know why), and added a sentiment to my version.

Buttons Galore

Buttons Galore

But they’re not real buttons, of course. I thought the buttons sizzlits die was so cute that I just had to have it. I cut them out of Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie card stock, and glued little white circles to the back of them. With the white background, the holes stood out more (and I could adhere Stampin’ Dimensionals to some of them without ending up with a card that’s stuck inside its envelope).

I went looking for a saying that would fit inside the Cute & Curly label perfectly, and found one in the On Your Birthday stamp set. A piece of white taffeta ribbon finishes the card off nicely.
