Thanks a Bunch

Silvia posted a great Easy as 1-2-3 Limited Supplies challenge on SCS today: Use…

  • 1 color card stock (Baja Breeze)
  • 2 patterned papers (both Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP)
  • 3 embellishments (ribbon, grommet, and corduroy button)

I put it all together using Fall-To Layout #34 from the clean & simple stamping blog. Love Natasha’s sketches!

Foiled Again

Foiled Again

A couple of days ago I saw this neat idea in the March 2009 Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine for making embossed aluminum foil backgrounds, and I had marked the page to give this a try. It was such a coincidence that today’s Way to Use It challenge (WT212) on SCS also revolved around foil.

I glued a piece of the common kitchen supply onto Basic Gray card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with an elegant Texturz plate. The end result was just stunning (I hope the picture does it justice)!

The card was “dressed up” with yummy Riding Hood Red ribbon from the Dress Up package. I framed my sentiment with silver Hodgepodge hardware after sponging some Basic Gray ink along the edges of the designer label.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy Card

Today I needed to make a sympathy card for a friend who lost her father. I used the sketch from today’s challenge on SCS (SC222) to get me started. Using two patterns from the Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper in the background, I repeatedly stamped the Flowers in Silhouette image with the same colors (Kiwi Kiss and Basic Gray) on Whisper White card stock.

The Basic Gray corduroy button and the patterned paper are both featured in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. The sentiment is a white Chit Chat rub-on, which works really well on the textured Basic Gray paper.

Christmas Joy

Christmas Joy

Once again I found myself running out of time to make my ten Christmas cards for this month. Luckily, I was inspired by today’s color challenge on SCS (CC212: Pink Chocolate Hoods).

The gorgeous Riding Hood Red paper in the Bella Rose DSP package made a nice background for the Illuminations image I wanted to use. I stamped ‘Joy’ with Chocolate Chip ink on Pink Pirouette paper and highlighted the ‘J’ with a VersaMarker. Then I applied Heat & Stick powder to adhere the fine Chocolate glitter to the letter. I cut the image panel into a diamond-like shape and stippled Riding Hood Red ink along the edges.

Elegant Wedding Card

Elegant Wedding Card

These Raspberry Tart DSP patterns look so elegant together; I thought they might make a nice wedding card. When I was pressed for time to make my Occasions Mini swaps for the Great Swaps Girls, this design was quick and simple enough to get them out on time.

The card base is Cameo Coral card stock and the two DSP panels measured 5-1/4″ x 2-1/2″ and 5-1/4″ x 2″ before punching the long edge. The organza ribbon hides the seam, where the two panels overlap slightly. The Oval All sentiment was stamped with Rose Red ink on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the large oval punch. This was layered onto a Cameo Coral scallop oval and a Rose Red wide oval.
