I always want to use polka-dotted paper when I use the Darling Dots images. I even added (dry-embossed) dots to the Whisper White panel that I mounted the cupcakes on. Of course, I stamped the sentiment before I ran the paper through my Big Shot with the texturz plate.
This layout is today’s Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC233), and it was wonderful for doing some layering with the (sadly no longer available) Sweet Always Designer Series Paper. Check the Last Chance Accessories list to see if any of your favorite DSP is being discontinued and still available!

If you love to create elegant cards, make sure you have this gorgeous set of six wonderful sentiments in your stamp collection. Elegant Cheer will only be available until June 30!
I started out with the color combination challenge on SCS (hosted by fellow Great Swaps Girl Carolina this week): Breezy Ruby Whispers…. The card base is a 5″ x 10″ piece of Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper folded in half. I stamped the Wild Rose images with Ruby Red and Baja Breeze ink and cut them out. The birthday sentiment was stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock that was cut with a new Sizzix die (available July 1st). This scalloped oval is slightly larger than the scallop oval punch and creates a perfect mat.
I embellished with ribbons and a clear rhinestone brad, and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the heart of the flower as a finishing touch. Did you notice that I managed to combine old, discontinuing, current, and brand-new Stampin’ Up! supplies on this simple card?

Just a quick card today, for the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS. I picked this card by sumtoy and used the same layout, but changed the colors and images.
I did some thumping on the tree stamp with a couple of the new In Color markers and an Old Olive marker, spritzed the stamp with water and stamped the image on a Confetti White oval. The sentiment from the Sweet Little Sentiments hostess set was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink. The scalloped border was created with Janine Tinklenberg’s Ruffled Scalloped Edge technique.

The bargello technique has always intrigued me, and I was very excited to see a step-by-step tutorial for it in this month’s Technique Junkie Newsletter. As you can see in the list of supplies below, I used a lot of different colors and stamp sets to make this card! Can you identify the stamps (without looking at the list!)?
The card is much larger than the cards I usually make, and I feel the Say It with Scallops sentiment is perhaps a little too small in comparison. I just didn’t want to cover up all my hard work, LOL!

It’s been a while since I used this large image from the Fresh Cuts set, but it was perfect for trying out the pyramid technique from this month’s Technique Junkie Newsletter. I stamped the image five times with different shades of green on the same size (3″ x 3-1/4″) Whisper White card stock. The Always Artichoke image was placed at the bottom of the pyramid. Then I removed 1/4″ inch from all sides of the Old Olive image. The Kiwi Kiss image was next (I removed 1/2″ from all sides), then the Mellow Moss one (3/4″) and finally the Certainly Celery one (1″). That last panel only measured 1″ x 1-1/4″ in the end. Dimensionals were placed between each layer, which created the “pyramid” look.
I mounted my pyramid on top of Juntos Designer Series Paper and embellished the card with Always Artichoke grosgrain ribbon. May I just say how absolutely delighted I am that Juntos DSP will still be available in the new catalog. And that’s not just because my blog banner was created with those patterns!
