Featured Stamper: Heather K.

The gallery of today’s Featured Stamper on SCS (tankgrl) is just chock-full of amazing artwork! I chose to CASE Heather’s blue bird card and used the Touch of Nature bird on my version.

I omitted all background stamping and used patterned paper instead. The sentiment was moved to the image panel and a little bit of piercing was added. I tied poly-twill ribbon through a vanilla slide and attached it to the striped panel as the finishing touch.

It’s Starting to Feel like Fall

It's Starting to Feel like Fall

It has cooled down quite a bit in my neck of the woods, and I felt like making a fall card today. The sketch I used is today’s challenge on SCS (SC246).

I pulled out my long-neglected pastels (aka chalks) to color the tree image and sprayed the panel with a fixative afterward. Creamy Caramel ink was sponged along the edges of every panel, and even on the twill tape for a more distressed look.

Whisper Pretty Soft Suede

I loved the color combination challenge on SCS today (CC236) and it inspired me to make this quick card, using Natasha’s Fall-to Layout #59. The card measures 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and the image panel is a 3″ square.

Featured Stamper: Shannan Teubner

Featured Stamper: Shannan Teubner

Another “fellow” Great Swaps Girl (steubner) was chosen to be this week’s Featured Stamper on SCS! I knew I wanted to CASE Shannan’s You’re Fabulous card — after all, September is national sewing month. In the end I chickened out and added some faux stitching instead of using my Janome Sew Mini.

The Framed wih Love label was stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink on textured Whisper White card stock, which gives it a fabric look. I used my Floral Fusion sizzlits die for the first time and glued a designer button on top of the flower.

Born in the USA

Born in the USA

I wasn’t born in the U.S.A., but I did feel like an American 8 years ago, on September 11. Remembering those patriotic feelings (which prompted me to become a U.S. citizen the following year), I wanted to make a card featuring red, white, and blue today. It also happens to be a WICKED challenge on the SCS demo side, hosted by my friend Kristin this month.

The stamps I used are Extreme Guitar and Extreme Elements, and I added the saying with Billboard die-cut letters.

Thanks for stopping by, and God Bless America!
