Happy Labor Day to my U.S. visitors! I spent most of the day cleaning my office, but I managed to stamp a little bit. I combined three challenges on this one little 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ card. The colors match Dawn’s latest Raspberry Suite Color Challenge (#16) and I used Beate’s Weekend Sketch (#96).

Since this is a very clean and simple card (without any stamping!) that uses a few dimensionals, it also qualifies for today’s Clean & Simple Cards Challenge (#31) on SCS!

Featured Stamper: Lori McAree

I found a really cute Paint it Black birthday card to CASE in Featured Stamper LMcAree‘s SCS gallery. The dragon holding the balloon reminded me of the robot with the balloon in the Lots of Bots stamp set. I kept the colors somewhat similar, but changed the layout to accommodate the smaller image.

For a Guitar Hero Fan

For a Guitar Hero Fan

My niece Rayna turned 16 yesterday and I wanted to make her a card with the Extreme Guitar stamp I just got (she’s into Guitar Hero). The layout I used is this week’s Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC244) and I thought I was also using the color combination of the Color Challenge (CC234), but I forgot it’s Rose Red (and not Melon Mambo) that’s in the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper.

Squares Aplenty

Squares Aplenty

It’s the end of August and I still haven’t made my 10 cards for the 2009 Christmas Card challenge on SCS. I may end up making 9 more of this card, since it was pretty quick to put together. Natasha’s Fall-to Layout #57 was just perfect for this square ‘Christmas Cheer’ postage image from the Christmas Punch level 2 hostess set.

The sentiment is normally enclosed by two curly brackets, but I omitted those by using a Real Red marker to ink up just the words on the stamp. The card measures 4-7/8″ x 4-7/8″ and the Whisper White layer is just 1/4″ smaller.

Diamond Fold Card

Diamond Fold Card

Here’s a fun fold that I found out about by doing the demo challenges on splitcoaststampers.com. Our hostess linked to a YouTube video by Chris Walker that shows exactly how to score and fold this 4″ x 12″ piece of card stock.

I did some masking with the Christmas ornament images from the Tree Trimmings stamp set (one of the sets we received at convention) and used some of the Merry Moments Designer Series Papers on the left and right panels. If you enlarge the image, you might notice the dry-embossed Petals-A-Plenty triangles I adhered to the card.
