Live Well, Laugh Often, & Love Much

My friend Mercy is celebrating her birthday tomorrow, so I thought it was only fitting that I’d create a card for her using her own sketch (MTSC50). I don’t know why I’ve never participated in her sketch challenges before; her layouts are awesome. Happy Birthday, Mercy!

Joyful

Joyful

No stamping on this card, I’m afraid. Just a lot of “fussy gluing” with those skinny snowflakes and tiny letters! The Naturals Ivory snowflakes against the Naturals Ivory background create an embossed look, which is why this technique is called faux embossing.

I couldn’t resist participating in Beate’s last weekend sketch challenge of the year (WSC109)! Here’s to many more fabulous sketches in 2010!

Thanks for stopping by!

All supplies by Stampin’ Up!® unless otherwise noted.
Paper: Old Olive, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Big Shot, Merry Details and Joyful Sizzlits Dies, Little Felt Flurries, 1-1/4″ Circle Punch, Sleigh Bells Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Anywhere Glue Stick

Winter’s Wonders

Winter's Wonders

I’m ready to start stamping again! A sketch challenge is always a nice starting point, and I picked Verve’s VLVDec01 challenge for this monochromatic winter card.

Background snowflakes were stamped with blue and white ink on textured Bazzill card stock. I touched some of the dark blue dots with a sparkly gel pen. The circular image was covered with glitter and punched out.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Snowflake Splendor (Verve)
Paper: Bazzill, Georgia Pacific
Ink: Night of Navy (SU!); VersaMark, Brilliance Moonlight White (Tsukineko)
Accessories: 1-1/4″ and 1″ Circle Punches, Heat & Stick Powder, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter, Heat Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals (SU!); Gelly Roll Stardust Pen (Sakura)

And I’d like to thank all of you for visiting my blog, even though I haven’t been posting much lately. After stepping down as a SU demonstrator, I haven’t much felt like stamping. If you’d like to win the blog candy below, please leave me a little note, perhaps with a suggestion on how to get my stamping gusto back. I’ll pick a random winner on Monday, November 30!
