One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is that you’re able to pre-order a couple of hostess sets before the arrival of the new catalog. I knew I had to have the (level 2) A Little Somethin’ set when I saw its great images, just waiting to be punched out!
I used the color combination and sketch from the September ’08 WICKED demo challenge on SCS for my card. I stamped Howdy with Not Quite Navy ink on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 1-1/4″ circle punch. I tried using a large star behind the circle, but it looked pitiful. Then a light bulb went off and I punched out another star, laid it upside down on top of the first one, and mounted the Howdy circle on top. This looked perfect!
The Sahara Sand strip near the bottom was stamped with the paisley image from the Wanted set. I also added a few white dots to fill in the empty spaces. The sentiment is a rub-on from the Chit Chat package.

I’m thrilled I get to share a sneak preview of the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog with you today! This is the first card I made with the Sweet Stems set and the luscious Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper. I used the layout from SCS Sketch Challenge 206; the three circles were perfect for these small floral images. The sentiment from Always in My Thoughts was stamped on Whisper White paper and punched out with the Round Tab punch, then tucked behind the floral panel.
I combined the Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss colors from the Raspberry Tart DSP with Basic Gray, and embellished with some Basic Gray taffeta ribbon.

This is my favorite Stampin’ Up! wheel, and I thought of it (again) when I saw the picture for Kristina Werner’s color inspiration challenge this week (#35). I used the layout of SCS sketch challenge 207 for this quick and simple card.
All stamped images were clear embossed on this card. Two outline images from the Wonderful You set were stamped with VersaMark ink on the Baja Breeze 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ card. I inked up the jumbo wheel with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and rolled it onto a 3″ x 3″ piece of Close to Cocoa card stock, which was matted with Chocolate Chip card stock.
The felt flowers were embellished with So Saffron brads and adhered to the card with mini glue dots or dimensionals. The little tabs of So Saffron ribbon are held into place with Sticky Strip.

Even though I haven’t used my Summer by the Sea set as much as I thought I would, I am sad to see it made the retired list this time around. So I wanted to make a quick card (translation: no watercoloring) with it before it goes, and Jen del Muro latest SFYTT sketch fit the large image perfectly.
I stamped the girl with VersaMark ink on Pale Plum card stock and embossed with black detail powder. Then I “colored” in the image with bleach and a watercolor brush, which removed the color from the card stock. After it dried, I matted with Basic Black card stock.
The patterned papers are from the Parisian Summer DSP package, and the black brads are part of the Vintage Brads collection.

When I saw Kristina Werner’s latest color inspiration challenge (#34), I immediately thought of the beautiful (retired) Enchanté Designer Series Paper. The sheet I used in the background has stripes in Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow, and Certainly Celery. I cut a Top Note out of Bordering Blue card stock, which was the only color still missing for the challenge.
The sentiment, from the retiring Wonderful Words stamp set, was stamped in Perfect Plum on a Very Vanilla Top Note. I tore off the top and bottom, and mounted it on the blue Top Note after stamping the Sprinkles hearts with Perfect Plum ink. Rhinestone brads and a pair of ribbons tied together finish off the card.
