Super Simple Card

Super Simple Card

And yet it took me over one hour to make it! I tried combining Kristina’s Color Inspiration #37 with Natasha’s Fall-To Layout #24, and wanted to keep the card clean and simple.

The flower was stamped with Pumpkin Pie Craft ink and clear embossed. I colored it in with Baja Breeze ink, then punched it out with a 1-1/4″ circle punch. I punched out two scallop circles, one in Old Olive and one in Whisper White card stock and adhered them together after punching 1/16″ holes in the Old Olive scallops.

I’m really happy the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper will also be in the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog! The colors and patterns are great, and so is its coordinating stamp set, Always.

Thanks for stopping by!

Featured Stamper: Julie Ebersole

Featured Stamper: Julie Ebersole

I have to admit I felt really uncomfortable trying to CASE any of JulieHRR‘s creations for this week’s Featured Stamper challenge. After all, HRR stands for Her Royal Rubberness and Julie’s cards are just amazing! She does clean and simple like no-one else.

I chose a birthday card she made for a 12-year old neighbor and turned mine into a Valentine for my husband. He unsubscribed from my blog a while ago, so I can still surprise him with this card on February 14. A computer image would have fit him very well also, but I just love this typewriter from the Puns from the Past set, and the pun that comes with it.

I stamped the image twice with Basic Gray ink. The Whisper White version was punched out with the Curly Label punch and the Going Gray typewriter was cut out by hand. I glued the white card stock to Going Gray and traced around the label, then cut the mat. The two Going Gray hearts were punched out with the new Heart to Heart punch and adhered with dimensionals.

Scallops Scallops Everywhere

Scallops Scallops Everywhere

Scallops Scallops Everywhere was a demo challenge on SCS two months ago, and I uploaded this card for it to the Stampin’ Up! Business gallery. It uses the new Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper and a level 2 hostess set from the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog.

It was a quick and easy card to make. I stamped the sentiment first with Old Olive ink on Whisper White card stock and cut out the word Thanks. Then I stamped it with Rose Red ink on Pink Pirouette card stock and punched it out. “Thanks” was adhered with dimensionals. The bow and the ribbon underneath are two separate pieces. I stuck the bow on top of the ribbon with a mini glue dot.

Thanks, LeeAnn!

Thanks, LeeAnn!

I had a feeling my Great Swaps Girls friend LeeAnn Greff was going to be the host of the WICKED challenges on SCS this month. This card was created using both her color combination and sketch. Thanks for the great challenges, LeeAnn!

The Blush Blossom card was stamped with the flowers from the retiring Classic Backgrounds set. The butterflies were stamped with Cameo Coral ink on Whisper White card stock and cut out, then adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I only used the beginning and the end of the Thank You So Very Much sentiment and stamped the words on two 1″ Whisper White squares. These were matted with Baja Breeze card stock and mounted on Cameo Coral scallop squares. The little flowers around the words are actually one of the butterfly images in the Flight of the Butterfly set.

My First Embosslit

My First Embosslit

When Stampin’ Up! came out with the Big Shot this past summer, I finally got my first die-cutting machine. Now I know what I’ve been missing all these years! I pre-ordered the Sweetest Stem embosslit, which will be in the Spring-Summer 2009 catalog, but I hadn’t used it yet. When I was putting this card together, it just was the right embellishment to fill in the space on the Top Note.

The colors I used are from Kristina Werner’s 36th Color Inspiration challenge. I started by stamping the Baroque background with Old Olive ink on the Old Olive card. I ran the Top Note die through the Big Shot twice, once with Rose Red card stock, and once with Pretty in Pink Prints Designer Series Paper. I trimmed the Pretty in Pink Top Note by cutting on the perforated stitches and adhered it to the Rose Red one.

The sentiment from the new A Little Somethin’ hostess set was stamped with VersaMark on Old Olive card stock and white embossed, then punched out. A Pretties flower and some Whisper White taffeta ribbon finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy New Year!
