I really enjoyed the ribbon weaving technique when I made this card back in December, so I tried it again. I went for a monochromatic look this time – using soft pinks and some white.
The 8 pieces of pink ribbon were woven on top of a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of card stock. I matted this with 3″ x 3″ Pretty in Pink card stock with rounded corners. A 4″ x 4″ piece of Sweet Always DSP was placed on top of scalloped Whisper White card stock and adhered to the 5″ x 5″ Pretty in Pink card.
The embosslit was made out of Shimmery White card stock, and I rubbed Pretty in Pink ink on the raised parts of the die-cut with a sponge dauber. I wondered where to put the sentiment, but decided to save it for the inside of the card.

I did not use the sanding technique with the dry-embossed Manhattan Flower on this card. Instead I inked up one side (the “flat” one) of the textured impressions die with a brayer, inserted a piece of Whisper White card stock, and ended up with a Brocade Blue background for the white outlined roses.
This card design is totally CASEd from the very talented Krystal De Leeuw. I saw this card in her SCS gallery and it was just perfect, so why change anything? I did use different (but similar) colors for my version.

Kathy, aka Wattle, is an Australian stamper and happens to be today’s Featured Stamper on SCS. I took a peek in her gallery and found this cute Wishing for Cupcakes card to CASE, perfect for another birthday card!
I used the cupcake image from the Darling Dots level 1 hostess set and colored directly on the stamp with various markers. I stamped the frosting separately, pierced tiny holes where the image shows little dots, and adhered them to the cupcake images with dimensionals.
The Pink Pirouette background panel was run through the Big Shot with a Texturz plate, but it is impossible to see in this picture. Sadly, I was unable to take a better picture because my camera died after the first one I took (and I usually take at least 6-8 pictures to choose from).

We’re off to a wedding today. My husband’s nephew is getting married, and of course I had to make a personalized card for the happy couple!
The card is made of Shimmery White card stock and measures 6-1/4″ x 3″. I layered two trimmed-down Top Note die-cuts on top of each other and punched a slot for the ribbon to go through. The big ampersand from the Together Forever set was inked up with Riding Hood Red ink but stamped off once. The Lovely Letters were stamped on Shimmery White card stock and cut out, then adhered to the card with dimensionals. Two half pearls from the Pretties Kit finish off the card.

This one could go for a man or a woman, I think. I used Fall-To Layout #38 from the clean & simple stamping blog and picked a color combination suggested by Stampin’ Up! on their 2008-2009 In Color Combos sheet: Pink Pirouette, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, and Mellow Moss.
The Mellow Moss panel was run through the Big Shot with one of the texture plates from Kit #4 and attached to the Ruby Red card. The Flowers in Silhouette image (one of the stamps you can earn for free this month) was stamped with Close to Cocoa Craft ink on Candy Lane Designer Series Paper and clear embossed. I punched the corners with the tag corner punch to mimic the Ruby Red button. The Chit Chat rub-on was added to the Close to Cocoa strip and I pierced above and below the sentiment.
