SCS Dinner Swap

SCS Dinner Swap

Wow, I still cannot believe I made 50 of these cards for the SCS dinner swap in Salt Lake City. I kept the design clean and simple, but used a fun technique to create the blue background panel.

I inked up the new Perfect Details texturz plate with Brilliant Blue ink, placed a 4-1/4″ x 3″ piece of glossy white card stock (glossy side down) on top of it, added a folded 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of copy paper, and ran it through the Big Shot die-cutting machine. The slightly raised pattern remained white while the background turned blue. Don’t you think these primary colors are a perfect fit for this little boy image?

Birthday Butterfly

Here’s a quick birthday card for a girl who likes butterflies!

I used the latest sketch from SCS (SC239) and the colors from Dawn’s Raspberry Suite color challenge #13, which I interpreted as Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Real Red, and Cameo Coral.

Noel in July

Noel in July

I started making my 10 Christmas cards for the month of July over the Independence Day weekend, but I didn’t get to finish them until today. This is a CASE of the Big on Christmas card on page 40 of the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog. I changed the colors, used a different main image, and made my card a regular 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ size.

I love the dandelion card in Featured Stamper versamom‘s gallery and thought it would be perfect for an anniversary card. My husband and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary this week and I still needed to come up with a card design. SCS challenge to the rescue!

I made my version a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ square card and covered the entire card front with Basic Gray patterned paper. The dandelion from the A Happy Heart set was stamped with black permanent ink, and I sponged Dusty Durango ink around the image using a reverse mask made out of Post-it® notes. The Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and punched out, then adhered with dimensionals.

Dirty Sketch Challenge

Dirty Sketch Challenge

While I’m supposed to be working on my convention swaps, I couldn’t resist participating in at least one Dare to Get Dirty challenge on SCS. I picked rainy’s sketch challenge, and used a variety of new and old Stampin’ Up! supplies to create my card.

The images from the Kind & Caring Thoughts hostess set were stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with (retired) Vanilla powder. The words from the Elegant Thank You set were inked up with a Basic Gray marker and stamped on Very Vanilla card stock, then punched out.

I no longer feel like hoarding my Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware — not while the box is such a steal at only $18.99 this week!
