I didn’t manage to send out Christmas cards to everybody on my list, so I’ll have to mail a few New Year’s cards instead. This one was created by CASEing SCS Featured Stamper SmilynStef‘s Jingle Blues card. I’m always attracted to cards featuring the funky Alphabet Soup sentiments, but I needed a New Year’s greeting on my version. The A Brand New Year stamp was only partially inked up, so that the size of my image panel would be similar to Stephanie’s. After inking up the stamp, I also sponged Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on top of the ink, which resulted in a nice, sparkly stamped sentiment.
The shimmer paint was also sponged along the edges of the designer paper (which is hard to see in the picture). I filled the glass with pink champagne by coloring it with Rose Red ink and a blender pen. Here’s to a fabulous 2010!

I was happy to find a card with a daffodil in Featured Stamper Benzi‘s gallery. The spring colors were a welcome change from all the winter and Christmas cards I’ve been making lately. I changed the layout to match the last Viva la Verve sketch for this month (VLVDec04).
The Crème de Menthe card base was embossed with the Perfect Details texturz plate. The Beautiful Life daffodils were stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the Verve Stamps sentiment with black ink on the yellow label and adhered this to the Regal Rose panel with dimensionals. Three pieces of stitched ribbon were attached behind the panel to add a little bit more texture.

After seeing the Liquid Appliqué video on StampTV, I remembered I bought this product a long, long time ago but had hardly ever used it. I decided to make some snow for the house image from the To You & Yours set. I’m actually trying to sell this set (and several others), but the size of this image was just perfect for today’s SCS sketch challenge (SC259) so I had to use it!
The card came together very quickly after deciding on the right DSP for the background. I did some paper piercing to imitate the dots on the back panel. Another Christmas card done! I really should be getting my cards in the mail…

I don’t think I’ll ever have to worry about finding a cool card layout with all those wonderful sketch challenges everywhere. This card was made for the latest sketch challenge (STVSCJH02) on StampTV, a great site with lots of instructional rubberstamping videos.
I stamped the lamp image with black ink on white card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with a Labels Nine Nestie. Before I removed the die, I did all of my sponging with the help of a few regular Post-it notes and a mask I created by stamping the lamp on a Post-it note and cutting it out. The lamp itself was colored with Copic markers.
Now I’m waiting to hear from somebody with great news, because this card needs a recipient! Do you have some wonderful news to share perhaps?

I have missed participating in the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS, but was happy to play today (FS149). I wasn’t familiar with pam124’s work, but I found a gorgeous card to CASE in her gallery: Noble Deer Masculine Birthday. Although I didn’t have the same deer image, I found comparable images in Gina K.’s Life Is Good stamp set.
I stamped the images with StazOn ink and sponged the background with various SU! dye inks on glossy white card stock. Instead of buttons, brads were used on top of this fabulous jute ribbon. It’s so easy to push the prongs through this ribbon! There was no room for a sentiment, so I guess I’ll have to add that to the inside of the card when I’m ready to use it.
