Inspiration Mosaic is one of my favorite Gina K. Designs stamp sets. On her blog, designer Melanie Muenchinger showed how to create a fast background by stamping the image on patterned paper and coloring the sections with different colors. I’ll be adding this card to her Two Years and 25 Sets customer blog hop!
I stamped the mosaic with black VersaFine ink on Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper and embossed with clear powder. Then I used three different blue-green Copic markers to color all but one of the sections. The section behind the “Happy Birthday!” sentiment was left uncolored. The other sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink on one of the darkest sections and embossed with white powder. Seven Old Olive brads were added to the skinny section in the top right corner.

Melanie Muenchinger is celebrating 25 stamp set designs in 2 years with a special blog hop. She is offering prizes for new projects made with her images. Since I had just purchased Tech Talk, how could I not participate?!
I made this birthday card for my brother-in-law and tried to keep it very clean and simple. The images were stamped with Memento ink and colored in with Copic markers, then cut out and popped up with dimensionals. Three masculine-looking brads were used as embellishments in the top right corner.

I combined today’s SCS sketch challenge (SC261) with a little contest Verve Stamps is having with their Winter Mittens digital stamp set. I had downloaded it back in October, but hadn’t created anything with it yet.
I used SU!’s retired Ski Slope designer paper for the background panel. The images were printed on Gina K.’s Pure Luxury white card stock and colored in with Copic markers. The mittens were cut out and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Apparently, yesterday (December 29, 2009) was my lucky day! Not only was one of my cards (a SUO version of this one) featured on Stampin’ Up!’s Stampers’ Showcase, but I was also one of the winners of Gina K.’s December customer blog hop! My friend Cindy was so nice to let me know about Stampers’ Showcase (I no longer have access to SU!’s demo site since I resigned in October). Thanks for thinking of me, Cindy!

I’m still working on New Year’s cards… This one uses last week’s SCS sketch (SC260) and several different patterns of the Night & Day Specialty DSP. Black and white are great “colors” for New Year’s cards, don’t you agree?
