I had a great time (lurking) at the Gina K. February release party on Thursday. This card was made for one of the party challenges (a sketch challenge). I used some of the new digital paper that I purchased/downloaded that night (the rest of my order has already been shipped!). Throughout February, 25% of every Wings of Hope digital paper pack sold will go to the Red Cross to support the work they are doing to help the people in Haiti.

This card is pretty much what I’ve had in my head for the past week, trying to befit the first Viva la Verve challenge of this month. It gave me a chance to practice coloring with my Copics some more.
The flower from the Love’s Flower set was stamped multiple times with black ink on white card stock and then colored in. The little flowers for the brads were also stamped on white card stock, and I colored around them with the YR04 marker before punching them out. I had fun making this colorful card; it’s a nice contrast to the whiteness outside!

I picked up quite a few new Dutch sentiment stamps during my last trip to Belgium, and I couldn’t wait to use this elegant ‘Proficiat’ (Congratulations) on my dad’s birthday card. He is quite the wordsmith and writes great, rhyming birthday poems, usually ending with this (his favorite) word.
Keeping my cards with destination Belgium as flat and mailable as possible, I chose to embellish with ribbon only. The sketch I followed is Fall-to Layout 64 from the clean & simple stamping blog. The butterfly stamp from the Simple Friendship set was inked up with Bermuda Bay ink first, then rock ‘n’ rolled in Taken with Teal ink. I also used a sponge dauber to cover the inked stamp with shimmer paint before I stamped on Shimmery White card stock. It’s very pretty in person!

I’ve missed my stamps! Due to the snow storm that passed through our area last weekend I had to endure several days without stamping. We were stuck in Virginia while our neighborhood was experiencing record snowfalls in Maryland. It’s so nice to be back home!
I spent more time agonizing over this card than I wanted to, but it’s always hard for me to get stamping again after a little break. This card combines today’s SCS color combination (CC257) and last week’s sketch (SC266) challenges. Just a quick “Wishing You Well” card that can hopefully brighten someone’s day.

I couldn’t get this SCS color combination challenge out of my head… I had to make a card with Crushed Gray Burgundy. The extra twist of the challenge was to use text in ways other than the sentiment, so I stamped the base of the card multiple times with the script image from the Charming set. The layout was inspired by this week’s CAS challenge, a sketch by kmahany. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.
