Proficiat

I picked up quite a few new Dutch sentiment stamps during my last trip to Belgium, and I couldn’t wait to use this elegant ‘Proficiat’ (Congratulations) on my dad’s birthday card. He is quite the wordsmith and writes great, rhyming birthday poems, usually ending with this (his favorite) word.

Keeping my cards with destination Belgium as flat and mailable as possible, I chose to embellish with ribbon only. The sketch I followed is Fall-to Layout 64 from the clean & simple stamping blog. The butterfly stamp from the Simple Friendship set was inked up with Bermuda Bay ink first, then rock ‘n’ rolled in Taken with Teal ink. I also used a sponge dauber to cover the inked stamp with shimmer paint before I stamped on Shimmery White card stock. It’s very pretty in person!

Thanks for stopping by!

Vera, Great color combination. I love how you did the butterfly so shimmery and the word cut out on the top and bottom to set it off. Great job!
