Wonderful Polished You

Wonderful Polished You

I made this card for a new catty (Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer Collection 2008) swap with the ladies of the GreatSwaps group. We all picked a new stamp set from the catalog, and I chose Wonderful You. I also used a new background stamp, Twill, to create a subtle background.

The bottom panel was created with the Polished Stone technique. I started with a piece of Glossy White card stock. I added drops of ink on a cotton ball drenched with rubbing alcohol, and dabbed onto the card stock to create the marble effect. Then I set it aside to dry and afterwards sprayed it with an acrylic sealer.

All supplies by Stampin’ Up!® unless otherwise noted.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day

This is a card I made for a Valentine Day swap. I thought it would be neat to stamp the heart from Time Well Spent in multiple pinkish colors and use the cut-out hearts to make some kind of wreath.

The heart on top of the vellum scalloped circle was adhered to the card with a few dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Wishes

Easter Wishes

When I saw this stamp set, Beautiful Life, for the first time in the Fall-Winter Collection 2007 catalog, it brought back memories from my childhood. My dad taught me how to draw a daffodill when I was little, and these flowers look just like his.

This card is for Beate’s weekend sketch challenge #34. I tried to find a nice Easter color combination and ended up with these three colors (Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery, and Lavender Lace). The daffodils were stamped on Shimmery White paper and colored with classic ink and blender pens.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Scallops

Birthday Scallops

I challenged myself to use Bold Brights colors on this swap card (I’m more of an Earth Elements girl most of the time). I inked up the So Many Scallops birthday stamp in three different colors, then punched the inside saying. I moved the sayings around and mounted them with dimensionals on the card. The three little flowers in the top left corner were stamped with an image from A Beautiful Thing and punched out with the Three for You punch. The saying in the bottom right corner was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder.
