Featured Stamper: Mary Fish

Today’s Featured Stamper on SCS is Petal Pusher, and I found this gorgeous Baroque Birthday card in her gallery. I was drawn to the big background stamp and lovely orange (my favorite color). I ended up choosing different colors, because I wanted to use the Flower Fusion felt flowers. I inked up the sentiment stamp with markers for a multi-color effect.

Spotted Background

Spotted Background

Today I’m getting together with other Splitcoaststampers in Baltimore for a large shoebox swap. This is the card I designed for the occasion.

I used three Stampin’ Up! spots to create the background, following Beate’s tutorial on SCS. Then I stamped the image from Essence of Love twice in black StazOn, leaving room on the right hand side for the ribbon treatment. I used the double rectangle punch three times and weaved the Always Artichoke ribbon through the holes.

The butterfly was stamped in black StazOn on Soft Sky and Certainly Celery paper. I punched out the green butterfly with the 3/4″ circle punch. Then I adhered it to the blue one before punching that one out with the 1″ circle punch.

Celebrate Spring

I love this new Summer Picnic DS paper in the Occasions Mini catalog. It really makes the card!

This was a card I made for a swap with a spring theme. I used a few other new items from the mini catalog, i.e. the Lots of Dots jumbo wheel and the Old Olive poly-twill ribbon. I had a lot of fun making this card, and it came together pretty quickly (which doesn’t happen that often for me).

Always Time for You

Always Time for You

This cute bike image is from the Time for You stamp set in the Occasions Mini Collection. I fell in love with this stamp set immediately, because this image reminds me so much of my mom’s bike (except for the crossbar).

The bike was stamped with Jet Black StazOn on watercolor paper (cut into an oval shape with the Coluzzle) and colored with classic ink and blender pens. I used the 3/16″ corner rounder punch (guide removed) to create the white scalloped edge underneath the Afternoon Tea DS paper.

For You was stamped on Whisper White paper and punched out with the small oval punch. I adhered it to the right edge of a large Perfect Plum oval and set an eyelet on the left hand side. After adhering the oval to the Soft Sky piece, I trimmed the edge with a hobby blade.

Gelukkige verjaardag, papa!

Gelukkige verjaardag, papa!

Today is my dad’s 71st birthday, and this is the card I sent to Belgium last week. I was happy to hear it arrived today, on the day itself, just the way he likes it!

I stamped the argyle three times in Old Olive ink, using my favorite tool: the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. The word window punch was used several times to create a window wide enough for the Dutch Happy Birthday sentiment.
