This morning I signed up to go to Stampin’ Up!’s 20th anniversary convention in Salt Lake City this summer. I thought I’d show you a swap card I made for convention last year, using the stamps from the Simple Delights Simply Sent kit.
I couldn’t have made this card without my favorite tool: the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig! I pretty much use it on every card I make, to make sure images are lined up right and sentiments aren’t stamped crooked.
Thanks for stopping by!

My mom LOVES strawberries! I just had to make her a birthday card with the Tart & Tangy stamp set this year. The whimsical strawberries on the Whisper White strip were inked up with two markers (Real Red and Garden Green). I used my corner rounder punch (guide removed) to create the scalloped edge. Did you hear Stampin’ Up! will have a scalloped border punch in the next Fall/Winter Collection catalog? I can’t wait!
The lone strawberry on the red panel was stamped with Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I actually stamped it twice so that I could layer the cut-out green piece on top of the red berry.
The Dutch sentiment is from a stamp set by Artemio. I stamped it on two lines so that it would fit inside the Styled Silver Designer Label frame. For fun, I used two Real Red brads instead of silver ones to fasten the frame to the card.
Thanks for stopping by on mama’s 70th birthday!

You may be wondering why I am posting a Christmas card in April. You see, I am doing the 2008 Holiday Card Challenge on splitcoaststampers.com. Every month, I make 10 cards so that I have a nice shoebox filled with cards by the time the holiday season rolls around.
I got the Holiday Blitz stamp set a few weeks ago, and I thought it would be great for quick and easy cards, like this one. The color combo was a great suggestion from scraptitude.com. The images were stamped on 1-1/4″ by 1″ Whisper White rectangles, and the top corners were punched with the tag corner punch. The small tag punch was used to create the mats.
The saying was punched out with the Word Window punch and attached to the card with red gingham ribbon. Quick and easy, because I had to make ten of them in a short amount of time!

Here’s another card for a Great Swaps Girls challenge: the first color challenge (Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, and So Saffron). The card also matches the layout from Beate’s weekend sketch challenge.
I wanted to use my For a Friend stamp set and the Time Well Spent butterflies were such a perfect match. I used the out-of-the-box technique on the top butterfly and added a cut-out butterfly, adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional, next to it. The grass was hand-drawn with a Certainly Celery marker on the watercolor paper. I colored the candle in the sentiment with a white gel pen.

Last July I was invited to join a great group of talented stampers who are also Stampin’ Up! demonstrators: the Great Swaps Girls. Recently the GSG started a blog, and it features weekly challenges. I made this card for the first GSG Featured Swapper challenge, where we get to choose a card made by Jackie Pedro (her work is awesome!) and CASE it.
I picked this beautiful Stem Silhouettes card as my starting point. My card measures 5-1/4″ by 5-1/4″ and I didn’t seem to have enough room for all the layers Jackie used. I managed to get a little bit of piercing in on the main panel. I moved the ribbon to the side, because it was covering up too much of the bird. The Styled Silver Designer Label frame fit perfectly on top of the ribbon.
The bird was stamped in Wild Wasabi ink and then masked, so that I could sponge some Soft Sky ink around it. The edges of the main panel were sponged with Certainly Celery ink.
Hope I did Jackie’s card justice!
