Featured Stamper: Kristi Reynolds

Here’s a quick, cute birthday card I CASEd from Kristi Reynolds when she was the Featured Stamper on SCS. My card was based on her Wild Wasabi Birthday card, and I only made a few changes (color being the most obvious one). I really like how she used the gingham ribbons on her card.

This birthday card should have arrived in somebody’s mailbox today (hopefully). Happy Birthday, my friend!

Wild Bananas

Wild Bananas

Wild Bananas was a Color Combination Challenge on SCS last January. Everybody was making cards with Wild Wasabi, Barely Banana, and Blue Bayou. I happened to have Designer Series paper with two of these colors, so that’s what I used on my entry. I took one 4-3/4″ by 3-1/2″ piece of double-sided DS paper and cut it in half using a Coluzzle and a hobby blade. I flipped over one half to reveal the other design, and it fit perfectly inside the other half.

I had seen how Janine Tinklenberg was adding DS paper to her punched photo corners, and I gave that a try. The circular birthday sentiment from Circle of Friendship was stamped twice, once on Whisper White and once on Barely Banana card stock. The inside words were punched out with a 1/2″ circle punch. I also punched 1/16″ holes in every scallop, and added little accents (sometimes called faux eyelets) to the holes with my white gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!

I’d like to wish all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day!

We made this card at my last stamp class in April. The technique used on the heart from Always is called “thumping” and you can find a great tutorial on SCS. The little chipboard heart was covered with Ruby Red ink, and when it was dry, we rubbed on a tiny white flower from the Eastern Elegance Rub-Ons package.

After stamping the sentiment in the bottom right corner, we pierced holes along two edges of the card. Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon was tied around the Close to Cocoa panel before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Many thanks to Linda Heller at stampingschool.com for the inspiration!

Featured Stamper: Nancy Riley

On January 5th of this year, Nancy Riley (now a Great Swaps Girl!) was the Featured Stamper on SCS. I found this great masculine birthday card in her gallery to CASE. The card I made for the challenge back then should be landing in my friend John’s mailbox today (if it hasn’t already).

I picked the colors for this card using Stampin’ Up!’s Color Coach – a truly wonderful tool that I use often. I cut the panels with a hobby blade, trying to leave an 1/8″ white border around each panel. The Rough Edges Mini Alphabet and the Well Worn Alphabet go together so well, I thought I’d use them both on my card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Simple Delights Card

This card was designed for my World Card Making Day event last October. I was inspired by Jami Workentine’s Baroque Motifs card on Stampers’ Showcase. Changed the colors and used two stamps from the Simply Sent kit. Also added a rhinestone brad.

A quick, yet elegant card. Thanks for stopping by!
