I always imagined the Touch of Nature set would make a great retiform (or grid technique) card. Now that the set is retiring next month, I wanted to finally get it on paper. This was one of the first techniques I learned as a beginning stamper, but to refresh my memory I followed the directions in Beate’s step-by-step tutorial.
The colors I used are from Kristina Werner’s 15th Color Inspiration challenge. The sentiment comes from another beloved retiring set, It’s Your Birthday. I distressed the edges of the Whisper White and Certainly Celery card stock and added an Aged Copper photo anchor to the card. If you like this Hodgepodge hardware as much as I do, you’ll be sad to know it, too, is retiring in August. The good news is that it’s on sale this month, at a 25% discount!

Every Monday, a new Technique challenge is posted on splitcoaststampers.com, and today we were invited to make a suspension card. I thought it was a nice opportunity to use my new Wow Flowers stamp set again.
The colors were chosen from the Bali Breeze Designer Series paper I used for the background. I tied the retired satin ribbon around the panel to fill in the empty space on the card. On the inside, I added a white scalloped circle to frame the suspended birthday greeting.

Teneale is a very talented stamper in Australia. I was thrilled to see her as the Featured Stamper on SCS this week, as I have been admiring her work for quite some time. This is the card I chose to CASE, using the Happiness Always stamp set I got a few days ago.
I started with a 9″ x 7-1/2″ piece of Shimmery White card stock, folded in half. I cut two Bella Rose Designer Series Paper panels and layered them on Pink Pirouette card stock. A pink taffeta ribbon was used to hide the paper seam. The two-line sentiment stamp was inked up with a Ruby Red marker and stamped in one line.
I stamped the solid butterflies in Pink Pirouette ink on Shimmery White and the detailed butterflies in Riding Hood Red ink on vellum card stock. I cut out the vellum ones and glued them to the panel with Crystal Effects.

Isn’t this new Designer Series paper gorgeous? I used it to make this quick, 5-minute card, which follows the Fall-to Layout #2 from the clean & simple stamping blog. The coordinating colors for this double-sided patterned paper are: Pink Pirouette (which you can see in this sample), Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip.
I stamped the saying from Elegant Cheer in Basic Gray in the bottom right corner. The strip of textured Baja Breeze card stock was punched with the new Scallop Edge Punch. I wrapped a piece of Basic Gray taffeta ribbon around the top layer and knotted a Pewter spiral clip to it.

Here’s a quick card I made with four new Stampin’ Up! In Colors and a new stamp set (all available August 11). The card base is textured Baja Breeze card stock, and I used the new Scallop Edge Punch on the right edge. I used the same punch on a strip of textured Whisper White card stock and matched it up with the card after stamping the Wow flower multiple times in Versamark, using my handy Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.
I stamped the Happy Birthday image three times on Whisper White card stock in the following new colors: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss. This image fits perfectly inside the 1″ Circle Punch, and looks great layered on 1-1/4″ circles. I inserted silver brads and adhered the circles to metal edge tags. The tags were adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Only one more 2008-2009 In Color to show you… I will try and use Pink Pirouette on my next card!
