Susan (aka susiestampalot) is today’s FS on splitcoaststampers.com. I chose her elegant Sprinkles of Kindness card to CASE, but ended up omitting the ribbon and brads that attracted me to the card in the first place.
Four different stamps from the Frames with a Flourish set were used on this card. I stamped the frame around the sentiment in Riding Hood Red ink on Whisper White card stock, cut out the oval with the Coluzzle, and sponged Pink Pirouette ink around the edges. The scallops on the Kiwi Kiss oval were created with the 3/16″ corner rounder punch (guide removed). I was so happy to have created a perfectly scalloped oval, but you may think my little pink embellishments are hiding imperfections. Not at all!
The square frame stamp was stamped in Riding Hood Red ink on Pink Pirouette card stock, punched out with the Photo Corners punch and adhered in the top corners of the card.

Have you tried the Wet Watercolor Crayons technique yet? I’m teaching a stamp class this weekend where we’ll be making this card with the retiring Wild Rose set. The rose and leaf stamps were colored with wet Watercolor Wonder Crayons and stamped on watercolor paper, then cut out. It’s such a different look than when you use ink (perhaps you can tell better if you click the image and view the larger picture).
I placed the rose on a panel of Soft Sky Prints Designer Series paper. If you’re interested in any of the 2007-2008 In Color items, you should order them soon, as Stampin’ Up! will probably run out of them before August 10. The Purely Pomegranate and Blue Bayou double-stitched ribbon have already sold out.

Goodbye to Sweet Shapes, a stamp set that has been a joy to stamp with. I have always been fascinated with the way the background stamp displays various shades of whatever ink you apply. Very cool!
I used the colors from Kristina Werner’s 16th Color Inspiration challenge (love this combination!), and I also tried tying a little bow the way she did in her Bow-Tying Made Easy video tutorial.
Of course I had to use my new Scallop Edge Punch again! It’s so much easier and faster than making scallops with the corner rounder punch. It absolutely is a must have! Will it be on your first order from the new catalog?

I found two other cards in Featured Stamper Stephanie Hargis‘s SCS gallery that inspired me to create this one. First, her fabulous Embrace Life card (for the colors and designer papers) and second, her Friend card (for the layout).
I stamped the Smarty Pants saying in Ruby Red Craft ink on Very Vanilla card stock and embossed it with clear powder. The 3/16″ Groovy Guava mat was pierced using the template and piercing tool from the Crafters’ Tool Kit. The brads were originally a Barely Banana color, but I transformed them with VersaMark ink and (retired) Vanilla embossing powder.

Time for my favorite SCS challenge: Featured Stamper! This week, I picked this lovely All Rub-Ons card, but I forgot to notice that Stephanie made this card for a sketch challenge (and we’re not supposed to CASE those layouts in this challenge). Maybe I’ll make another card for the challenge later.
This is a quick and easy card to make. I used some of the Bella Rose Designer Series papers and two of the new Stampin’ Up! sets that I was able to pre-order. The ribbon is from a retired Ribbon Originals package, but it looks great with the Pink Pirouette ink.
