My in-laws are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, and of course I had to make them a card! I wanted to use big chipboard numbers and luckily I still had a five and a zero in my stash of retired Simon Lower On Board chipboard. The numbers were first covered with Whisper White Craft ink. When they were dry, I inked them up with VersaMark ink and embossed them with Iridescent Ice powder which made them very sparkly.
The background was created with the large flourish from Baroque Motifs, gold embossed on brushed gold card stock. I tied a gold metallic ribbon into a bow and added a little vellum banner to the card. The vellum was adhered to a gold punched heart, which was placed on top of the zero with a dimensional.

T.G.I.F. and I got to do a little stamping today! I combined Kristina’s color inspiration challenge (#26) with Beate’s sketch challenge (#62), because they both worked well with the stamp set I wanted to use for this card, A Little Birdie Told Me. Since I was using a neglected stamp set, I thought I might as well use a background stamp I have hardly used at all, called Happiness. I only inked up the bottom part of the large stamp with Wild Wasabi ink and stamped the flowers on Whisper White card stock.
I paper pieced the birdie with retired Rose Red Prints Designer Series Paper on top of a piece of So Saffron Prints Designer Series Paper, also retired. The sayings were stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink and punched out with circle punches.

Today’s Featured Stamper on SCS, Anne Ryan, is just the sweetest person and leaves the most wonderful comments in the gallery for her fellow stampers. I CASEd a card she created for Inspiration Challenge #145.
I kept Anne’s layout and colors, but changed the stamps and omitted the stitching. I stamped the rose and bee from the Flores Suaves set on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock on which I had first stamped several butterflies in More Mustard ink (stamped off once). Then I masked the black images and stamped the script image on top. The images were colored in with Classic ink and a blender pen.
The Really Rust card base was stamped with the Twill background with Whisper White ink. Juntos Designer Series Paper covers the two background panels on the card. Black wide organdy ribbon was tied into a bow, and a hat pin with pearls and other pretties inserted through it.

I found this layout in the current Idea Book & Catalog on page 209, and thought it would work well with my new Holiday Collection images on a 6″ x 3″ size card.
I followed the Faux Metal technique instructions on SCS to make my big snowflake and punched it out with a 1-3/4″ circle punch. The Not Quite Navy mat is a 2-1/8″ square. I cut the big shimmery white circles with the largest Coluzzle circle and trimmed them to size. The Not Quite Navy snowflakes on the top circle have little 1/4″ silver embossed circles glued to their centers.
I inked up the words one by one with a marker, so that I could stamp them on two lines. The little snowflakes were stamped around the saying with VersaMark ink and embossed with silver powder. A little silver elastic cord finishes off the card.

Lots of friends of mine have October birthdays, so I’ve been making lots of birthday cards lately. Here’s one that combines this week’s color (#187) and sketch (#197) challenges on SCS.
I embossed the Pocket Silhouettes images in white on Very Vanilla card stock and stippled Tangerine Tango ink all over it. The Kiwi Kiss panel and the card base itself received a little paper piercing. I finished off the card with satin ribbon tied to an Aged Copper clip.
