I love Beate’s sketch challenge this weekend (#63), and I thought it would be perfect for making another card with my Holiday Collection stamp set. I stamped the little snowflakes all over the Chocolate Chip card with VersaMark ink and embossed them with clear powder. The words were also stamped with VersaMark ink, but embossed with silver powder, as was the big snowflake. The patterned background paper is a sheet from the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper. I cut a little slit through all the layers behind the circle to pull the ribbon through.

I really love the stamping style of today’s Featured Stamper on SCS (Speedystamper), but I’m afraid I didn’t do her True Friend card justice with my version. I changed the colors and images, but kept the layout the same. Instead of a Pretties pearl, I used a rhinestone brad on my flower. And I didn’t add any faux brads to my photo corners, just some faux stitching.

Janine Tinklenberg (JanTInk on SCS) has been creating the most wonderful cards with the Winter Post stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I really loved how she used the ribbons on this card, and I was inspired to create this card for my upcoming class (hope you don’t mind my CASEing you, Janine). Since I don’t have the same stamps, I used A Cardinal Christmas images on my version.

I have been waiting for Beth to pick Emily as the Featured Stamper on SCS. She is extremely talented! I got to meet and hang out with her mom (my Great Swaps friend Cindy) at the Stampin’ Up! convention this past summer, which was a lot of fun.
I chose to CASE this happy scallops card of Emily’s. The layout, piercing, and use of hardware are things I kept the same on my card, but I used different images and colors.

I really like the technique shown by Natalie Travis on Stampin’ Up!’s Workshop Wow DVD, and I tried it out on this window card. First I stamped the dove from To You & Yours with White StazOn on white vellum card stock. This ink dries pretty fast on vellum, and when it was dry I turned the paper over and highlighted the outline of the image with a stylus. Then I sponged Baja Breeze ink all over the image (still on the back of the paper) to make the stamped and dry-embossed lines stand out more.
The oval was cut through both the Night of Navy and Baja Breeze layers (the vellum was adhered inbetween these two layers) with the Coluzzle tool, and I added little silver dots around the window with a ZIG Painty pen. The sentiment is a white rub-on from the Chit Chat package. Other embellishments used on this card are: a white felt snowflake (glued on with Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive), a silver brad, and a piece of silver elastic cord.
