Faux Silk

If you signed up for my stamp class this month, you are getting a preview of one of the cards we’ll be making. The technique I used for the background panel is called faux silk. First I ran the Forever Flowers wheel with Chocolate Chip ink over regular tissue paper and colored the flowers and leaves in with a blender pen. Then I rolled the tissue paper up into a little ball, and flattened it again. It was glued to Whisper White card stock, and after the corners were mitered the edges were folded to the back, and the panel was adhered to the Berry Bliss DS paper.

The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White card stock in Chocolate Chip ink, but Pretty in Pink ink was added with a stipple brush because the white looked too stark. I adhered the Hodgepodge frame to the card with the Chocolate Chip ribbon from the Occasions Mini Catalog tied into a little bow.

Thanks for stopping by!
