Up, Up and Away!

Up, Up and Away

Look out Belgium, here I come! I’m excited to be in the air, on my way to visit my parents, sisters, and lots of other relatives. But no, I’m not traveling in a hot air balloon. This card was made for the Verve Stamps World Card Making Day challenge on SCS earlier this month: Pick a flag and make a card using the colors of that flag. Be sure to tell us what country you chose and the colors on it.

I paper-pieced the balloon with the colors of the Belgian flag: black, yellow, and red. The sketch I used was that week’s Sketch For You To Try from Jen del Muro (10/3/09).

Thanks for stopping by!

Lord of the Season

Lord of the Season

I’m still playing with my new Koh-I-Noor pencils and stamps from Gina K. Designs. Today I made a card with a pretty wild color combination: Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, Lavender Lace, and Gold. The sketch is today’s challenge on SCS (SC251).

I embossed the Rich Razzleberry panel with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder and wiped Champagne Mist over the raised flowers with a sponge dauber for a little shimmer. It’s really pretty IRL!

Thanks for stopping by!
