Happy Easter! This is the card I sent to my parents this year. I wanted to use the Chocolate Bunny stamp because my mom worked in a Belgian chocolaterie (chocolate shop) before she had kids. When I talked to my parents a few days ago, they told me the “edible” card had arrived, and sent me a picture to prove it! My mom seemed to think that my card complemented the Easter decorations she had created.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful holiday!

I enjoyed receiving lots of cards for my birthday this year; the hand-stamped ones especially made me feel extra special. Thanks so much for thinking of me, my friends!

Shhh! I’m not supposed to use glitter in the house (I stamp in my kitchen), but I just couldn’t resist the corduroy technique featured in the April/May 2010 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. After creating the sparkly background, I made the rest of the card very simple. Of course, I had to use my long-awaited Beautiful Wings embosslits die. I may be adding cute butterflies to all of my cards from now on (just kidding)!

I happily renewed my subscription to the Technique Junkie Newsletter last month and found this lovely pierced patterns technique in the February/March 2010 issue. You may not recognize the large flourish image from the Baroque Motifs set in the pierced background of this card, but that’s the stamp I used to make it. I stamped the image with black StazOn on vellum card stock, temporarily adhered it to the Whisper White panel and just started to follow the swirly lines with my paper-piercing tool.
The rose was colored with Linda Heller’s version of the Ink, Spray & Smash technique. You use a plastic page protector so you have more control over the colors and can actually see how it’s going to look (no more overdoing the smashing!). I used the colors from the SCS color combination challenge (CC261) and followed sketch SC271.

I didn’t quite finish all the Verve Spring Fling challenges I wanted to participate in this weekend, because a wonderful thing happened to me on Saturday night: Beth Silaika aka MyPrecious picked me to be Featured Stamper #161 on SCS! I was too excited to stamp all weekend, not to mention trying to comment on every card in the FS161 gallery while the server was having some issues.
Tonight I managed to make a quick card for Verve’s Clean and Simple Flower challenge. I stamped images from the Love’s Flower set in Soft Suede ink on Dusty Durango card stock and punched them out with a circle punch. ‘Hello Sunshine’ was white embossed (and yes, we saw plenty of sun today!). The layout I used is Fall-to Layout 81 from the clean & simple stamping blog.
