Wishing You Sunny Days

I finished my last card for the Verve Release Week challenges with sketch number 5. As soon as I saw the layout, I knew I wanted to use the notebook paper image from the Blue Skies set — it was the perfect size. I added a couple of suns from the Let It Shine stamp set and embossed the background with Tim Holtz’s Rays embossing folder. Because I used white core textured card stock, I was able to highlight the dry embossed rays with a sanding block.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Let It Shine, Blue Skies (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad (SU!); Green at Heart (BasicGrey); Brights Textured Adhesive Mat Stack (DCWV)

Accessories: Big Shot, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Sanding Blocks, Sponge Dauber, Stampin’ Dimensionals (SU!); Tim Holtz Rays Texture Fades Embossing Folder (Sizzix); Copic Markers (Y13, Y15, Y17)

Just Because

Just Because

I thought a (mostly) pink card would be nice to send to somebody during breast cancer awareness month. Splitcoast is doing a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer, but I haven’t participated in any of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges yet. Maybe something for the long weekend that’s coming up…

This card uses sketch number 2 of the Verve Release Week challenges. One more and I will have completed all five challenges!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Great Friend (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White (SU!); Green at Heart (BasicGrey)

Dance in the Rain

Dance in the Rain

Another rainy day in Maryland today! I thought this sentiment from the Blue Skies set was very appropriate considering the weather we’ve been having:

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

If you’re thinking I must have used another sketch from Verve’s Release Week challenges for this card, you are correct. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

Zalig Kerstfeest

Zalig Kerstfeest

Well, whaddayouknow! Waltzingmouse Stamps included a Dutch Christmas sentiment in their Nutcracker Sweet stamp set, so of course I had to get it! The tree is one of the images in the set, and I colored it with Copic markers and a gold glitter pen before cutting it out. There are little dots on the tree image, and I thought the patterned paper with its many dots was a great match.

I used another sketch from Verve’s Release Week challenges for my card. The little red bow was created with the Bow-Easy and attached with a little piece of Scor-Tape.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Nutcracker Sweet, Very Vintage Labels No. 2 (Waltzingmouse Stamps)

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko); Garden Green (SU!)
Accessories: Big Shot, Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals (SU!); Labels Two Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Bow-Easy (Posi-Bendr); Scor-Tape (Scor-Pal); Copic Gold Atyou Spica Glitter Pen & Markers (E51, E57, G20, YG93, R27)

Let Us Give Thanks

Let Us Give Thanks

I’m very thankful that today, on World Card Making Day, I managed to make a couple of cards. I am also extremely thankful for the wonderful sketch challenges Julee Tilman posted for Verve’s release week; her layouts are just the best! This card uses the first sketch, VSWCMD1.

The basket and pumpkins were stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. I only used one word of the ‘Let Us Give Thanks’ sentiment from the Bountiful Baskets Additions stamp set (a technique called omitting), because that’s all that would fit inside the hardware frame.

Hope you were able to make a card today! Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Bountiful Baskets Additions (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Paper: Really Rust, More Mustard, Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper (SU!); Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, Ivory (Gina K. Designs)
