Online Card Classes started their Pattern Play class today, and Jennifer McGuire inspired me to create this card as my homework for Day 1. I placed three heart dies on top of a stack of four different patterned papers and cut them out at the same time. I only made one card today, but I have die-cuts to make three additional cards now. This class is off to a great start, and hopefully you’ll see more homework cards from me this week.

“Luck” is the theme of this month’s Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party. Not surprising, since today is of course St. Patrick’s Day. The song “Luck Be A Lady” immediately popped into my head, and when I discovered that ladybugs are considered good luck charms I followed the directions in Kelly Slattery’s YouTube video to create Ladybug Punch Art for my card.
The card design was based on SCS Featured Stamper Nancy Littrell’s Simply Congratulations card. Instead of using several patterned papers, I stamped a variety of background images and ended up using five different WMS stamp sets! The dots on the ladybug were created with a small solid circle stamp from the Vintage Circles Small set.

I just found out Stampin’ Up! now has demonstrators in the Netherlands (since last fall, actually), and I discovered a neat challenge blog started by several Dutch SU! demonstrators called SU-per Challenges. It’s a lot of fun to read about Stampin’ Up! in my native language! I decided to play along with their sketch challenge this week.
Spring is upon us in a few days, but I still love this retired Fall Flowers designer serier paper so much that I just had to use it. I heat embossed the flowers and sentiment in black and trimmed the ends of the strips of patterned paper with the smallest Window Frames Collection framelits die.

I got this crazy idea to use lots of fleur-de-lis designs on my Mojo Monday entry card this week. I stamped, heat embossed and die cut this magnificent stylized lily to create a very mailable encouragement card for my nephew in Belgium. Stamping the background in VersaMark ink (to be clear embossed later) was a little bit tricky, because the Bountiful Backgrounds stamp only contains four rows of images and I had to stamp it several times. I sponged Frayed Burlap distress ink onto the Symbology die-cut and added Crystal Effects after I had adhered it to the card.

Well, I’ve made it! All four Viva la Verve! sketch challenges have been completed, this being the one that came with a fabulous inspirational picture (Week 2). The hot pink front door inspired the dry-embossed Melon Mambo background, and the wrought iron fence my use of the Martha Stewart punch. The little banners from Verve’s new Flag It die set fit nicely below the bow.
