It's in the Cards

My dad is an avid card player, and I thought he might enjoy a birthday card with “cards” on it. Can you guess how old he’ll be next week? I wanted to use the exact colors from Kristina Werner’s color inspiration challenge (#41), but substituted Real Red for Riding Hood Red because it looked more like the color of real playing cards.

The diamond background was created with the new Stampin’ Up! exclusive Texturz plates. I add an extra piece of cardstock as a shim when I roll the plate through the Big Shot and get a better impression that way. The Dutch sentiment was stamped on a die-cut and I added a mini library clip with some grosgrain ribbon tied to it.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Very clever, using the cards to add the age! Funny how we both used the Lots of Tags and Texturz plates on our color combo challenge designs!
