Christmas Rose

Kristina Werner’s 17th color inspiration challenge was just what I needed to finish off my 10 cards for the Holiday Card challenge this month. I wanted to create flat, very “mailable” cards, since many of my cards travel overseas during the holidays.

The christmas rose stamp from the retired Christmas Cardinal set was stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper and colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The Sage Shadow mat started out as a 4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of card stock. I punched the scallops by holding the scallop edge punch upside down and matching the edge of the card stock to the bottom of the scallops.

Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve been one of those weird ones who doesn’t like pink and red together. Well, I have to correct that, I was. I definitely like this card. For a holiday card it has few embellishments but still looks great. Good job Vera!

this is perfect! I love that you used non-traditional colors for a christmas card. everytime I see that you knocked out 10 more cards, I cringe and say I need to do this too. great job!
