Smile

I tried staying up for Kristina Werner’s fifth Color Inspiration challenge and managed to finish this card tonight. I may have to fill in the details later…

ETA: I started out wanting to try Laura Fredrickson’s Roll with the Punches technique and rolled my Spot On jumbo wheel in Certainly Celery ink on Whisper White paper. There was just a little too much white to my liking and I ended up punching out the circles and matching them up with the white wheeled images on Bashful Blue card stock.

I stamped “smile” from the Be Happy set in Close to Cocoa ink on Whisper White and matted the 1-1/4″ circle with a slightly larger Bashful Blue circle. I tucked a white scalloped circle underneath the Bashful Blue layer to make the sentiment stand out more.

Thanks for taking a look at my late night attempt!

That is so pretty! I wasn’t sure how to tie all the colors together, but I think you did it beautifully…and I was just thinking of twill ribbon for a card this morning…
    cheers!

this is so cute, Vera. I love the punched out circles with the Spot On wheel. great job on the color challenge. I’m always a day late for these, but still doesn’t stop me from tyring them.

Really like this card! I would never have used the orange colour with the blue…but it looks awesome.

Hi Vera, just thought I ‘d stop by and say hi. Your blog is wonderful and so glad to be part of GreatSwaps.

I think you’re card came out great. The sentiment element is unique and the wheel technique is the perfect touch. I think the white really makes it pop.
