Suspended Snowflakes

Three days after I started creating this card, I have finally finished it! When I saw the projects Stephanie Klauck presented on day 2 of Holiday Card Workshop 2103 on onlinecardclasses.com, I felt so inspired. She made it look so easy. Don’t get me wrong, I love the end result. But it is definitely not a card I’d want to mass-produce. đŸ˜‰

Mojo Monday 315

Mojo Monday 315

I was inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday sketch to make this card for a Belgian friend of mine. The Dutch sentiment was only partially stamped on the front of the card; the second part of the sentiment was stamped on the inside. Rough translation of the entire stamp: “A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.”

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Making a Statement (Verve Stamps); Dutch friendship stamp (Verschooten Antwerpen)
Paper: Island Indigo, More Mustard, Whisper White (SU!); Clippings (BasicGrey)

Mojo Monday 314

Mojo Monday 314

This card took me such a long time to make — I was afraid I was going to miss the Mojo Monday contest deadline! Perhaps I should spend more time in my stamping basement.

I just got BasicGrey’s RSVP 6″ x 6″ paper pack and thought these little cupcakes would look great on a birthday card. Stampin’ Up!’s Coastal Cabana ink matched the paper nicely. I used Gina K.’s trick with the embroidery floss to make my Bow-Easy bow seem really tied onto the card (it’s just stuck onto the card with Scor-Tape).

Thanks for stopping by!

Wetlands Swap

Wetlands Swap

Today I’m participating in a rather special shoebox swap in Fort Meade, MD. A few months ago, my friends and I chose one particular stamp set in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog that we would all design a card with for our next shoebox swap: Wetlands. I saw this cool Tri-Cut Dies Tutorial in the August/September 2013 edition of Pat Huntoon’s Technique Junkie Newsletter that I wanted to try with these images. Baked Brown Sugar Core’dinations card stock was used for the dry-embossed background panel, and rubbed with a sanding block to have the lighter core color revealed.

Thank for stopping by!

Wedding Wishes

Wedding Wishes

Under the wire, but I did manage to finish my card for the Mojo Monday contest in time! I’ve been making a lot of wedding cards lately, even though I only have one wedding coming up (next Sunday). This means I will have several cards to choose from, which doesn’t happen very often.

I just got these new Twisted Hearts M-Bossabilities last week and thought they would look great with the Verve images. After embossing the background, I highlighted the raised lines with a glitter pen.

Thanks for stopping by!
