I feel like I’m still celebrating my birthday, thanks to the lovely cards I’ve recently received. Aren’t they beautiful?
Thanks so much for extending my birthday celebration, dear friends!

My stamping buddy and fellow Great Swaps Girl Lori was chosen as Featured Stamper #170 on Sunday. I really admire Lori’s style and always looked forward to making her card at shoebox swaps we both attended. I found this cute blue and orange (my favorite color) card in her gallery: Go for It.
My version is also a square, blue and orange card – with a few modifications. I used a different fish image and added my sentiment with a tag. The twill tape was colored with a Copic marker to match the fish. All stamped images were clear embossed, and the little golden crown was stamped twice, cut out and raised with a tiny dimensional for a little bit of a 3-D effect.

Of course it’s just a myth that if you hold a conch shell to your ear, you can hear the sound of the ocean. My sister-in-law (who loves the ocean) is celebrating her birthday this week, and this Gifts from the Sea stamp set had the perfect images for her birthday card.
I used the Sea Scape Impressabilities die as a stencil with Close to Cocoa ink on textured Creamy Caramel card stock for the background. The image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored in with Copic markers. I made a Chocolate Chip mat for my LabelS Two die-cut by tracing the outside edge of the die with a pencil and cutting it out by hand (thanks for the tip, Beate!).

I finished this card for my MIL in the nick of time, to be hand-delivered tomorrow. But I still have plenty of time to make a card for my mom, as we celebrate Mother’s Day on August 15 back home (in Antwerp, Belgium). Before I started making my own cards, I always had to remember to buy a card for her in May because the stores wouldn’t have any Mother’s Day cards for sale in August.
The layout I used is Mojo Monday 137, and the stamped images are from a brand new set by Verve Stamps that I was lucky enough to win during their latest Sneak Preview.

When I saw Natasha’s latest Fall-to Layout (#89) on the clean & simple stamping blog, I couldn’t resist using my brand new Seeing Stars set from Verve Stamps. This set includes stars in three different sizes and was a perfect fit for the sketch. I chose the striped stars and added striped DSP in the background. The sentiment is from the Happy Days set and was built with two different stamps, inked up with different colors.
Just a nice quick card to get back into the stamping groove. I’ve been spending too much time playing with my iPad lately!
