I’m thrilled to be waltzing along with Claire from Waltzingmouse Stamps this month. Her Nestabilities-friendly stamps are what first drew me to her store, as you can see on this card. The birthday sentiment by Verve Stamps was framed with a gorgeous design that is a perfect match for one a Labels One die-cut.
This month’s blog waltz theme is the colors of summer… blue and green. I had just the right DSP to make an elegant card for my mother-in-law, who celebrates her birthday next week.

My Waltzingmouse Stamps order arrived in the mail today, and I saw that as a sign that I should participate in their sketch challenge for the first time. The deadline is tonight, so I just made it in the nick of time. This would have been a very quick card if it hadn’t taken me a few tries before I had the background stamped the way I liked it. I am so used to breaking out my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig that it felt weird not to use it with these clear stamps.
I got lots of birthday cards to send out this month, so I selected a birthday sentiment that I received as a “thank you” gift with one of my Verve Stamps orders. It’s also one of the stamps in the Big Wish stamp set.

I’m still feeling very patriotic after the July 4th festivities last weekend, so I decided to make a red, white & blue card for the shoebox swap I’m attending at Fort Meade today. The American Hero stamp set from Verve was just perfect, and it comes with several sentiments that fit nicely inside this frame so my stamping buddies can pick the one they like best.
I try to make my cards quick and easy for shoebox swaps, and this one is no exception. Just sponge some red ink on the dry-embossed background, stamp the frame and sentiment, color the stars red and set four silver eyelets. Adhere sentiment panel to card with dimensionals and you’re done!

I hope debbiemom23cs is enjoying her day in the spotlight! Her gallery is full of wonderful artwork, and it didn’t take me long to find something I wanted to CASE: her Kioshi Note Cards. Although the colors are different, I used a sheet of Kioshi paper on my card, too!
I changed the color combination and moved the oval to the other side of the card, but I kept the floral images and the butterfly. Instead of stamping the sentiment on a tag, I stamped Enjoy your day directly on the scalloped strip of Lovely Lavender card stock. Flowers and butterfly were colored with Copic markers, cut out, and adhered with dimensionals.

Birthday wishes to my little sister who turns 40 this week! This is not the card I sent to Belgium, but since it’s a birthday card I thought I might as well post it in her honor. It’s actually another card I made for a Verve sketch challenge back in April.
The card I did send to the birthday girl can be seen here. I haven’t been able to part with this card since October and now at least I get to keep it in the family!
Thanks for stopping by!
