Yay, I did it! Finished all five anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges this week and am ready for the Release Party tonight!
The Blue Skies sentiment inspired me to look for blue papers and I happened to have just purchased the new Elegant Soirée DSP from Stampin’ Up! I combined quite a few of the patterns on this card. You may notice something unusual about the butterflies: they are covered in glitter! Actually, since I bought the quickie glue pen (such precision!) and found out how easy it is to clean up afterwards with a Swiffer cloth, I haven’t shied away from pouring on the sparkly stuff as much.

I don’t mind saying that I’m very pleased with the card I made today, which features a lovely quote by Anthony J. D’Angelo:
Wherever you go,
no matter the weather,
always bring your own sunshine
I knew I wanted yellow and orange “sunshine” colors for this card and I found them in these patterns of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I sponged along the edges of the paper with Dusty Durango ink, and along the edge of the sentiment panel with Pumpkin Pie ink. The anni-VERVE-sary sketch called for a scalloped border on the right hand side, which I created with the flower from the Let It Shine set by stamping the image five times with Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White card stock.

Another day, another anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenge! I’m trying to finish all five sketches by the deadline (Friday) and I still have two to go!
I looked through my humongous stash of retired SU! DSP for patterns that would complement this sentiment from the Love’s Flower stamp set, and I ended up with Raspberry Tart. Luckily, I still have some Purely Pomegranate card stock and embellishments, so the card was put together fairly quickly. If you click and enlarge the image you might see that I adhered the large letter L (stamped and colored on white card stock, then cut out) with dimensionals.

I couldn’t resist the Always Cherry Pink color combination challenge on SCS today. Cherry Cobbler seems to be a very popular color, but since I only have the card stock, I had to scramble to find matching embellishments. The retired red hemp twine from Stampin’ Up! was a pretty close match, and I managed to use it (instead of ribbon) for another one of the anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges.

Here’s my attempt at a vintage/shabby chic card for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz! I had hoped to do some stitching on my card, but never got around to taking the sewing machine out of the closet. Distress inks and a texture fades embossing folder will have to do the trick!
I wanted to use this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt inside the Very Vintage Labels No. 10 frame as my focal point and couldn’t believe my luck when I saw this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. It was a perfect match!
