Vera Stamps

I wanted to make a “Stampin’ Up! only” birthday card for a demonstrator friend of mine and found a great card to CASE in Featured Stamper jazzytobi‘s SCS gallery. The cocktail glass images reminded me of the Cheers to You set, so that’s what I used on my card.

I stamped the glass and sentiment with Basic Gray ink on an oval die cut and colored the image with watercolor crayons. Beate’s paper piercing trick came in handy again for adding the piercing to the oval mat. After adhering all of the layers to the card, I filled in the glass with Crystal Effects for that glassy look.

I think my nephew would have enjoyed getting that extra hour of sleep on his sixteenth birthday, but (unfortunately for him) he lives in Belgium where Daylight Saving Time ended last week. The card I made for him just says sixteen (in Dutch) in big letters, and I used some of my more “masculine” papers for the background. He already received the card and let me know he liked it, which is always nice to hear!

I thought for sure my mojo would return if I played along in the Mojo Monday challenge, so I gave MOJO163 a try. It was fun to create a winter card with my new Verve supplies, but I’m not sure I found what I was looking for (my mojo).

Just a quick card I made using my new Lovely Labels 2 stamp set and a sketch from StampTV. Love those Nestabilities-friendly images! The sentiment is from Melanie Muenchinger’s Wild at Heart stamp set.

I’d been searching for a nice layout to use with my new Northern Flurry embossing folder, and I think I found a great one: Fall-To Layout 113 from the clean & simple stamping blog. I embossed a piece of Shimmery White card stock, which gives the card a very festive look. The three squares on the layout were decorated with snowflake die-cuts and pearl accents.
