One of my New Year’s resolutions is to devote more time to making cards (and posting them here, of course). I started the year off well, with this New Year’s card to all of you. Hope 2011 will be a great one for you!
The layout I used is Mojo Monday sketch 171. I created my own “fireworks” background by stamping and silver-embossing stars from the Starstruck set on silver card stock. The vintage lace border of the white square panel was enhanced by the teal glitter sheet that I adhered behind it.
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy New Year!

Less than one week till Christmas, and here I am still working on cards to send out. Maybe I should sign up for the Christmas Card Challenge on SCS this year. Anybody with me?
A couple of SCS challenges helped me create this clean and simple card. The colors are from this week’s CC301 Gray Blues challenge, and the inspiration came from Featured Stamper maryrose‘s Birthday for Brother card.

There’s nothing like CASEing a card to get back into the stamping groove! After my visit to Belgium last month I finally found my way back to my stamps. I was inspired by this Purple and Silver Christmas Card by today’s Featured Stamper on SCS, lisaadd. Instead of making a one-layer card, I used StampTV’s Metallic Edge technique to create a silver frame for my embossed sentiment and images and popped up that layer with dimensionals.

When I looked through my collection of stamps, I thought this was the perfect image for a little girl’s birthday card. Sketch and color combination were quickly decided upon, thanks to the SC306 and CC296 challenges on SCS.
I stamped the fish princess with black Memento ink and colored her with turquoise Copic markers. The white circle in the background was sponged with Tempting Turquoise ink, while the card stock was still inside the circle die. The patterned paper was one of the designs in the Quite a Catch card kit (which is no longer available).

Doing a little Christmas waltzing with the friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps! I started out with a sketch from SplitcoastStampers (SC304) and decided to make the little Christmas tree from the Nutcracker Sweet stamp set my focal point. The design on the tree reminded me of the plaid paper in BasicGrey’s Jovial paper pad, so that had to be included on the card!
The image was colored with Copic markers and embellished with a yellow rhinestone brad. I sponged green ink around the tree while the ivory card stock was still inside the Nestabilities die and matted with a brown oval. The small strip of Musical Background was stamped with brown ink on ivory card stock and adhered over the crochet trim with dimensionals.
