My Heart Belongs to You

My Heart Belongs to You
Five days late, but I finally finished my husband’s Valentine’s Day card. I think he was a little bit disappointed I didn’t have a card for him on the 14th (even though he didn’t get me one, either!)

I was happy to be able to use my new Jotted Heart die and Love Notes stamp set from Verve. Their Viva la Verve sketches really speak to me (this one is February’s Week 3) and it didn’t take me long to put the card together. The colors were chosen as substitutes for Heather Pulvirenti’s Totally Hues Challenge #2 colors: PTI’s Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Raspberry Fizz, and Dark Chocolate. If you are familiar with Stampin’ Up! colors, you may recognize Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo, and Chocolate Chip.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Love Notes (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Textured Baja Breeze, Soft Sky Prints Designer Series Paper, Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper (SU!)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip (SU!)
Accessories: Big Shot, Spiral Border Punch, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Cutter Kit, Stamping Sponge, Stampin’ Dimensionals (SU!); Jotted Heart Die (Verve Stamps); Labels Seven Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Scor-Tape (Scor-Pal); Bow-Easy (Posi-Bendr)

Aloha

Aloha

Thanks to my friend Amanda, I found a great new challenge blog called Use it Tuesday. Their first challenge is to make something with an image you have not previously used for a project. I had just received this Aloha stamp set from Gina K. Designs in the mail today (my prize for winning last week’s color spotlight challenge on StampTV), so that’s what I used on my challenge entry.

I kept the card very clean and simple, because the sketch is Fall-to Layout 128 from the clean & simple stamping blog. The only embellishments on the card are knotted hemp twine and jute ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Aloha (Gina K. Designs)
Paper: Pure Luxury Tan Leather, Kraft, Ivory (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Tim Holtz Broken China, Tea Dye, Tumbled Glass Distress Inks (Ranger)
Accessories: Big Shot, Natural Hemp Twine, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals (SU!); Labels Ten Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Jute Ribbon (Gina K. Designs); Inkssentials™ Ink Blending Tool (Ranger); Copic Markers (E21, E33, E39, G12, G94); Scor-Tape (Scor-Pal)

WMS Buttons Waltz

WMS Buttons Waltz

“Designing with Buttons” is the theme of this month’s Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz. I had envisioned to be using lots of buttons on my card, but ended up with only one (on top of the bow). The layout is Mojo Monday 178, if you don’t mind my tweaking the brad placement a little bit.

The Very Vintage Labels No. 4 image was stamped with Rose Red ink on scratch paper first, so that the quote from Afternoon Tea Sentiments would stand out more. I cut the label out by hand and matted it with a Labels Four Nestabilities die-cut.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Afternoon Tea Sentiments, Very Vintage Labels No. 4, Vintage Circles Small (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper (SU!)
Ink: Rose Red (SU!); Memento New Sprout (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Big Shot, Pear Pizzazz 1/2″ Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Rose Red Button, Rose Red Brads, Linen Thread, 1/4″ Circle Punch, Mat Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals (SU!); Labels Four, Lacey Circles, Standard and Petite Scalloped Circles Large Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Scor-Tape (Scor-Pal)

One Layer Card

One Layer Card
I hadn’t made a one layer card in a long time. When I saw the sketch spotlight challenge on StampTV (STVSKSP12) I couldn’t wait to try one with this layout. I embossed the lacey oval first on a kraft card, then added score lines with my MS score board. I covered up the area around the oval and sponged Faded Jeans distress ink through the Nestabilities die, then masked the oval with a scratch die-cut and used Tea Dye distress ink on the score lines and the edges of the card.

There you have it, nice and simple. A flat card that will not require any extra postage.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Botanicals (Gina K. Designs)
Paper: Pure Luxury Kraft (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: Tim Holtz Faded Jeans, Tea Dye Distress Inks (Ranger)
Accessories: Big Shot (SU!); Lacey Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Scoring Score Board and Envelope Tool (Martha Stewart Crafts EK Success); Inkssentials™ Ink Blending Tool (Ranger)

Springtime Smiles

Springtime Smiles
It’s great to be able to get something on paper that you’ve been carrying around in your head for days (if not weeks). I’ve been dying to try the retiform technique with this new Easter Blossoms stamp set and today was the day!

I found this color combination on a PDF somebody shared on splitcoaststampers.com and thought it would work great with this technique. I needed at least one dark color for my silhouette image and Elegant Egglant was perfect. The images stamped with Baja Breeze and Rose Red ink were stamped off on scratch paper first and are second generation.

Thanks for stopping by!
