I stepped up to the challenge of making an all-white Christmas card (thanks for starting new Christmas challenges, StampTV!). If only they had told me how hard it would be to take a decent picture of the finished project!

I decided to make another tent topper card, with a 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ card base made out of dry-embossed Mother of Pearl card stock. The images were stamped and heat-embossed on Mother of Pearl card stock as well, and I added a Labels One mat made out of white card stock. The sentiment reads: “May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace & joy” and is quite legible in person. All in all, the card turned out much better than I expected.

Betty mentioned she pulled her colors from BasicGrey’s Cappella collection and I happened to have this collection sitting right there on my stamping table when I got started on this card.

I had been playing around with my new Martha Stewart Daisy punches and the frame I had punched was just the right size for the square in Melissa’s layout. Yes, I do try and stay very close to the original sketches for these challenges. My ruler is my best friend!

I basically stamped the elegant heart image with a light, medium, and dark ink, trying to cover most of the Whisper White panel.

The scalloped panel started out as a 3-13/16″ square piece of Sahara Sand card stock. After punching the corners, this size lines up perfectly with the guide on the scallop trim border punch.

But I still have plenty of time to make a card for my mom, as we celebrate Mother’s Day on August 15 back home (in Antwerp, Belgium). It wasn’t until I saw the Mojo Monday 128 layout that I figured out what I wanted to do with it.

My card is only 5-1/4″ wide to match up better with the scallop trim border of the Basic Grey designer paper. I punched 10 small hearts out of Lipstick Red card stock and adhered them above and below the vanilla ribbon with Scor-Tape (the awesome adhesive). Two little mini heart brads finish off the card and the ribbon.

I have a lot of catching up to do if I want to complete all four Viva la Verve sketch challenges this month. I started with the latest one (January Week 4) and chose this foyer as my inspiration.

I created the tiled look by stamping images from the Accent Notes and Thankful Accents sets with gray and green ink. The happy birthday sentiment and frame were stamped with black ink and clear embossed. I thought a double bow would look nice here, so I made one from white taffeta ribbon with the Bow-Easy (and it is really easy to do!).
